Halloween and Baptism....

Wow, this is the exact reason why it's important to do weekly blogs in my book....so much has happened and I've forgotten most of what I wanted to share with everyone! Since last blog, life has become even more exciting....Noa's almost sitting up on her own, and everyday is filled with new adventures! It seems like one morning Noa woke up and was no longer a newborn...but a baby!! Not only is she almost sitting up on her own, she's reaching for toys and playing with them as well!!

It seems as though she talks back and forth with you, and her short screams (eventhough they are still there) have evolved into the cutest little laughs!! At her four month visit doc said to go ahead and start her on trying solids! We were a little hesitant at first, everywhere we read said no solids until 6 months....but she's so alert and sharp we knew it was time! This was such an exciting milestone, eventhough this meant more wiping of mouths, cleaning bibs and bumbo trays! So, Mom and Dad rushed to buy our baby some fruit! Mom's making the veggies herself at home...and pat on my back, Noa seems to enjoy the veggies more than the fruit! As of right now, her favorites are green beans, carrots and prunes....that's right, I said PRUNES! She also enjoys mornings of oatmeal with bananas mixed in!

On October 11, we had Noa Christened into the Catholic Church! It was such a wonderful moment and blessed memory, Mom couldn't help but cry of course! Daddy got to hold our cutie pie as she was baptized, and Aunt Amber and Papa Tim were the proud Godparents! There to help us share in our happiness were Meemaw and Jim, of course Nana Kendra, Aunt Crystal, Uncle Kenny, Cousin Ella, Great Aunt Mary, Great Uncle Mike, The Jones', and our wonderful friends Jeff, Leigh, and their cutie pie Aidan! Leigh is a fantastic photographer (Leigh Bedokis Photography 618-985-6016) and photographed the Christening....what wonderful pics! What a WONDERFUL DAY!!

October was another special month for us....it was Noa's first Halloween. And what would Halloween be for Miss Thing without at least a wardrobe change...or should we say costume change! The first costume was that of a giraffe, something Aunt Amber got for her, then the official costume was that of a Ladybug!...What a cutie pie!

Noa went to stay with Nan and Pop tonight, and tomorrow, Mommy and Daddy are going to put the Christmas Tree up to kick off the holiday season. We can't wait to see the look on her face when she sees the lights and the ornaments! We are even more excited for our baby's first Christmas, and also first Thanksgiving! The Lord has truly blessed our little family!!

Birthdays, Parades and Fireworks!!

Wow....how time flies! We can't believe how much our baby is growing, and how cool it's already getting! And what better way to bring in Fall than with hayrides, parades and fireworks. First up last Saturday Noa went to her very 1st birthday party, her buddy Kase turned 1! It was such a gorgeous day and everyone had such a wonderful time! Also there were Noa's buddies that will be her classmates, Bryden, Regan, Birthday boy Kase, and also Dalton who's just about 7 weeks old! It's so amazing to see how in the first year along how quickly they grow. Dalton slept the whole time, like newborns do, Noa fought taking naps and was very alert, while just a few months older Bryden and Regan played with little toys. Big boy Kase hit the jackpot in toys as well!! After the party Nan and Papa came down to babysit little Noa while Mom and Dad went to Brian and Shelly's for a gathering of friends, adult beverages and a nice long hayride! We had such a great time! Even better, Nan and Pop got up with Noa that morning so Mom and Dad could sleep in.....WOOHOO!!! And boy did we!!!

Sister Amber came up to visit Noa on Sunday as well....and they went a little camera happy showing off some Big Blue spirit for Daddy's team!! Everyone can't believe how much she's growing, and how happy and talkative she is!

Finally the weekend was here again!! MeeMaw came home from her vacation in Florida and brought Noa some cute gifts, a puppet frog and a couple of onesies! Saturday Noa, Daddy and Mom went into town for the Flourspar Parade and then up to MeeMaw's for fireworks. Noa got to see her Aunt Crystal and Cousin Ella, who always loves to dance and entertain her! Aunt Crystal couldn't get enough of her!! Noa's normally been going to bed on her own around 7 or 8 so I was sure it would probably be a good thing being the fireworks would scare her. Well she's already proving her Mom wrong and sat with Daddy and watched the fireworks....he said she didn't even jump at the really loud ones! And what a late night for her....she finally conked out after 10! We had a blast!! We did miss Nan and Papa, who weren't able to make it because they were sick!! : ( And now, it's the start of a new week....and already we have a busy one planned, and an even busier weekend ahead. Saturday the Lee family (and one Potts') will be playing in a bocce tourney to benefit Breast Cancer, then off to Krista and Anthony's wedding and then Sunday our little angel will be Christened!!!....and then hopefully we will get lucky and the Card's will get to go to the Division Series evening game that Mom and Dad can sneak away too!!!

Noa got her ear's pierced today!!

Okay, so it wasn't as bad as it looks....and it definitely wasn't as bad as Daddy had anticipated! In fact, the entire day turned out to be a great one....but then again, pretty much everyday is that anyway! Colby received the go-ahead from his doctor since his gallbladder was removed the week before, then next it was a little shopping, stopping to get a bite to eat...and then finally off to get Miss Things ears pierced!!! Mom was sooooo excited!!! I assured Dad that it would only sting for a couple of seconds and then she would be just fine! Plus, it was definitely better to get it done this early instead of when she was 2 or 3....then the waterworks definitely would have been working in overtime! The original video was much longer than this, but Noa did great! In fact, by the time Daddy had turned off the camera and walked to pay, she had stopped crying! I thought that the day after they may be a little sore but she hasn't bothered with them a bit, and it doesn't even phase her to touch them!!! Needless to say, she looks adorable! Now, off to a birthday party for her buddy Kase this weekend, then Mom and Dad are going to a get together for the evening!!....Noa can't wait to stay with Nan and Papa!!

The first 3 months....

Well, we made it through the first 3 months!! So much has happened in our lives in just the last year alone, and we can't believe our baby girl is 3 months old already!!! So sweet and adorable, she has so much life and so much fire in her already!! I'd like to say that she takes after her father, but we all know who's the more stubborn of us both!!

It seems that she's changing everyday, and there's always something new! We swear that she didn't stop crying at all last week, and we weren't sure if she's already teething, or if her tummy is just upsetting her! Her new thing is crying when she's tired, and it seems the only way to get her to stop is to lay her in her crib!! No Rocking for Miss Thing...no way!!!! She wants to be left alone to rest!! We are happy that she's now taking real naps as opposed to catnapping! She's been sleeping through the night for about 2 months now also!!! She loves to sit on the front porch swing, her bumbo....and I hate to say it but she also loves to look at the tv!....I'm only praying it's the lights from it that she loves, but just in case I put it on Fox News to get her started early! hehe!!!

Everyone just can't get enough of her!! Nan and Papa have to see her at least once a week (since we are an hour away)....and Aunt Amber just loves her!! MeeMaw is such a help being right down the road and we can't wait for Aunt Crystal and Uncle Kenny to see her soon!! And we definitely can't forget Cousin Ella, who just loves her baby Cousin Noa!!!
Tomorrow is a big day for our little one, she's getting her ears pierced. Then off to her very 1st birthday party invite on Saturday and her Christening on October 11th!

We are so blessed and only hope that God keeps blessing us!!!
